Doctor Alex Kaplan, the “MD” of Tattoo MD, is an attending physician at St. Francis Medical Center. Dr. Kaplan gained experience doing laser tattoo removal as a volunteer at a non- profit clinic in east LA. While volunteering, he realized that many other people around the LA area also need a place where they can go to have their tattoos removed. Dr. Kaplan decided to open a clinic that provides accessible and affordable laser tattoo removal.

You may have heard of other places that also do tattoo removal. There are doctors’ offices that do laser tattoo removal, but they are often part of a larger, complex practice that involves other dermatology treatments and/or plastic surgery. In these types of settings, laser tattoo removal is usually very expensive and it is not the highest priority of the practice. At Tattoo MD, laser tattoo removal is the priority.
